I am so relieved that I am finally able to sit down and blog. Life has been none stop here lately and I have definitely needed some time to process it all. Of course, if you follow me on social media you all know by now that I am expecting a baby BOY. ♥ Dillon and I are overjoyed at the news and can not wait to meet our Winston Reign Mathes!
Also, just recently we were able to purchase a new vehicle! This recent purchase has had us over the moon. Dillon and I, right after we got engaged were in a pretty bad car accident that unfortunately totaled his car and left us with only one vehicle for about two years so we are feeling very blessed and thankful that the Lord has provided another vehicle at just the right time. Not only did he provide the perfect vehicle for the perfect season but he made a way for us to purchase our vehicle cash! Which means no car payment! Woowhoo!!!
God has truly been so GOOD and faithful to us. As he always is and remains. Any moment I begin to worry about my future as a mamma, a growing family and the many challenging changes that are soon to come he instantly reminds me to trust Him and believe in who he is and what He says about me and mine! Below are some scriptures that I have recently been meditating on that have been lifting me up and I hope they can encourage you in the same way.
Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalms 37:4
So I’m not defeated by my weakness, but delighted! For when I feel my weakness and endure mistreatment—when I’m surrounded with troubles on every side and face persecution because of my love for Christ—I am made yet stronger. For my weakness becomes a portal to God’s power. 2 Corinthians 12:10
“No one cuts up a fine silk scarf to patch old work clothes; you want fabrics that match. And you don’t put wine in old, cracked bottles; you get strong, clean bottles for your fresh vintage wine. And no one who has ever tasted fine aged wine prefers unaged wine.” Luke 5:39
The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. 1 Corinthians 3:8
But forget all that—
it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. 19 For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. Isaiah 43:18-19
Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. You guard all that is mine. Psalm 16:5
I share this sweet life update with you all, not to boast about my life but to say that my God is good and to magnify what He is capable of doing not only in my life but all lives. 1 Corinthians 1:30-31 says, “God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin. 31 Therefore, as the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.” I will continually boast about the goodness of God and all that He has done and continues to do. He has been more than gracious to me and is just as able and willing to be the same good God towards you. He deserves all the glory and the honor! I am so expectant for all that is in store for the rest of this big year!
Praying many blessings over you all and your upcoming Easter season.
love, Mia ♥
